About Parkshore
Now recognized as a Naples icon, Park Shore was one of Florida’s first master-planned communities and the first in Collier County, incorporating visionary design and environmental conservation concepts (such as underground utilities and rainwater collection systems), paving the way for their use in future developments. Realizing the potential of the area, Raymond L. Lutgert, the mastermind behind Park Shore, purchased 760-acres of undeveloped land in 1964. Over the next four years, Lutgert led teams of land planners, architects, engineers and designers in the creation of a Park Shore development plan.
Construction on the Park Shore development continued from 1970 to 1983, starting with Colony Gardens, and was followed soon after by the addition of Lutgert Company’s trademark Horizon House, the tallest and most luxurious building in the area at the time. However, it is Lutgert’s Venetian Villas that have become the most recognizable and photographed structures in all of Naples Florida. Meticulously styled after the city of Venice Italy, each Venetian Villa is situated right on the water. Added to the project between 1998 and 1990, the Village on Venetian Bay features 60 hand-selected specialty boutiques and cafés affording visitors and residents a truly extraordinary shopping experience.
Park Shore in Naples Florida is a visual gem, and a dramatic standout among its opulent neighbors largely due to its striking, snake-like design. A unique blending of old and new, even after more than 35 years of development, Park Shore continues to establish the standard for luxury living in Naples Florida.
The unique Park Shore Gulf front remains a prime choice for Naples waterfront living at its finest, and is separated from Park Shore’s mainland section by the traversable waterway, Venetian Bay. Outdoor aficionados can take full advantage of the area’s abundant natural beauty from five beachside community parks, four open-air communal areas, and a lighted pathway that winds along the beach. Hedged by the Moorings to the south and Pelican Bay on the north, Park Shore provides expedient access to major Florida highways and the restaurants, entertainment and shopping in nearby downtown Naples (Olde Naples).
